I took this picture when we were taking a boat ride from Belize City to Caye Caulker (pronounced Key Cawker). It was last year late August/ early September 2014 while we were backpacking throughout Central America. Some of our friends were getting married in Mexico so we started our journey in Costa Rica then went up to Nicaragua, then to Honduras, then to Guatemala, then to Belize and ended in Mexico. We didn’t spend too much time on this trip as I was still working in the corporate world and only had less than two weeks paid vacation. This is one of the most calming and beautiful pictures I have ever taken. The boat ride wasn’t too calm as we were on a smaller boat that took us to the island.
As you will get to know me you will know that I am very fond of the water, I just absolutely love it. I took this shot with my old I phone 5s. I am not sure how I captured the shot, but I was definitely lucky! Its amazing the pictures you can actually capture using your cell phone. I used to work in the technology world, so I was able to have the latest and greatest Apple devices. All the pictures you will see on my blog will be shot with either my Iphone 6 or our NikonD 3100 camera.
I have always had a love for photography, there is something about capturing such special moments that will live inside you, but will also live inside the shots taken. Needless to say, I will be taking most of the pictures that you will see on my blog. If it’s not me taking the pics, it will be Alan helping me out since I can’t take the pictures you will see of me. While on our trip we will be looking for a tripod (even though we have one back in the states, we just didn’t bring it) small enough and functional to fit in our backpacks. This way I can relieve him from taking my pictures.
I would have to say that Belize was one of my favorite countries we visited while on this trip along with Mexico, mainly because we were right next to the water for both of them. Have you been to any of these countries? If so, which was your favorite or which one is on your bucket list to visit?
